Tattoo Removal in Vienna

Would you like to have a tattoo removed or lightened for a cover-up? During your initial consultation, your tattoo will be assessed individually and you will discuss with the specialist how the treatment may proceed.

“Sometimes you need a fresh start. We make sure the process is as gentle as possible.”

Sometimes circumstances change, your taste evolves, or a tattoo simply no longer feels right. In these situations, tattoo removal can be an option to make room for something new.

Thanks to modern laser technology, many tattoos can now be selectively lightened or removed. How successfully a tattoo can be removed depends on several factors, including the pigments used, the depth of the tattoo, your skin and your body's individual response to the treatment.

Partial tattoo removal or lightening can also be useful when preparing for a cover-up. This can give tattoo artists more options when designing a new piece and, in some cases, help achieve a better result.
Whether your tattoo only needs fading for a cover-up or should disappear completely is something we figure out together – our artists will give you honest advice on what's possible.

If you are considering combining laser treatment with a cover-up, it is important to speak to your chosen tattoo artist before starting laser treatment. This allows us to assess whether and to what extent your desired cover-up can be achieved.

The Process

01

Initial Consultation

Dr. Hirtler will assess your tattoo and discuss the available treatment options, the expected effort involved and what you can realistically expect from the treatment.

02

Laser Treatment

During the laser treatment, the tattoo pigments are specifically targeted and broken down into smaller particles. Your body then gradually eliminates these particles naturally.

03

Healing Phase

Your skin needs time to recover between treatments. Depending on the tattoo, several sessions are usually required, with several weeks between each treatment.
